Sack him or back him
This impasse is doing nobody any good, the team is suffering, Allardyce looks uninterested, fans are restless. Surely they must know if they want him or not, stop fannying around and make a decision. Rome is burning while Nero fiddles.

For the record I would change manager now, bring in Potts or someone till the end of the season and go for Bilic or Benitez in the summer.

Less back or sack

More, reward his work with a new contract, or look for other managers and get someone in when his contracts up.

The club owners are game players and so is the manager

Different board games and no one admits losing.

I don't find the threads OP tedious.

I think that sacking or backing their manager(s), is exactly what they should always have been doing.

Given that they're not going to make a decision until the end of the season, up to that time, I'd hope that they will back the person that THEY employed.

as opposed to say, turning up on soccer am, to tell everyone how football management ain't all it's cracked up to be, etcetc

If it isn't all that btw, then they've wasted all that money on employing the 13th highest paid in football.

If they want rid, then deal with it in house at the end of the season, it's more professional, and more conducive to attracting someone of quality as a replacement.

You've been told already, it's the end of the season.

It's tedious and sad all this rubbish just like Nicey!

Re: Sack him or back him
They should move him upstairs so him and his team of sports scientists can create a sustainable future for the club and allow the manager to manage the team only and not lose focus on getting the team to play football.

Nah I'm joking, fuck the fraud off

What can happen in s months that has happened in over 3 and a half years. First , the managers contract is about to end and second there are other managers available/ not available.

Chelmsford

I think the uncertainty is causing problems, a strong finish with European football was a possibility now we seem to be drifting like a barge. If we do finish positively and carry that into next season im sure it would help recruitment and the perception we're going in the right direction. You make a fair point about keeping your options open but I think they should know by now if they want to keep him or not, what can happen in 3 months that has happened in over 3 and a half years.

Re: Sack him or back him
So the chairman has said the final decision will be made at the end of the season, but that's guff. What do you want him to say, they're not going to renew his contract no matter what and he's gone at the end of the season even if we qualified for europe.

Re: Sack him or back him
The rumours about Allardyce's position became rife after the shocking FA Cup exit when stories about a list of candidates being compiled to replace him were not denied by either of the two Daves.
It would only take a minute for Sullivan to quash the rumours but all that has come out is the usual guff about the end of the season board meeting. This appears to suggest Sullivan is intent on finding a replacement.

Re: Sack him or back him
Axeman, why?. His contract is up this summer, I daresay they will be looking now to see what other options there are. If there is better option they may go for it , if there isn't he may be offered a new contract.nwho in their right mind would either give him a new contract early or sack him before knowing what the alternatives are.

what I think they should do is offer him a contract or get shot of him.

chelmsfordhammer 2:31 Mon Mar 2
Re: Sack him or back him
axeman, and as the club havent done anything, its quite obvious theyre backing him for the time being. What do you suggest they do, unfurl a banner at the next game with 'we're backing sam' on it so show their support for him.

Like any sensible person theyll asess the situation when the times right and then make an announcement on whether he ll be offered a new contract or not.

Dr TwinHammer
Sorry for doubting you on Alex Neil. I saw him on a Scottish programme a few weeks ago and he was very knowledgable on English football. Watching him on the touch line yesterday barking out orders at regular intervals reminded me of Fergie over the years, and I dont think I've seen a Norwich side work as hard as they did against Ipswich, and play good passing football at the same time. I've heard he's a real stickler for fitness and it seems to be paying off in results so far. They have the momentum to come straight back to the PL no doubt about it.
